Middle School Science Program for Homeschoolers

1. Investigative Science:
This course is a hands-on approach to solving problems in the area of science for middle school students. It is designed to allow students to investigate God’s creation using their area of giftedness. The course is based on science process skills that will bring them to logical conclusions. This type of science is widely accepted and assessed through national exams because it follows the National Science Standards.

It will cover various areas of exploratory middle school science including: Life Science, Physical Science and Earth and Space science. Students will be taught to keep a science notebook for their observations and collection of data. They will learn how to compile and analyze their data with graphs, charts and illustrations, and summarize their conclusions in a clear and understandable way.

Topics include flight, rocketry, sea life, environment, insects, kitchen chemistry, machines and many others. There will be no textbook required. Students will be given lab packets for each session and be evaluated with their lab notebooks and quarterly evaluations.
