Similarities in design do not mean descent from one common ancestor but demonstrate one common Designer.
Evolution holds that organisms with similar designs must descend from one common ancestor. This argument can be challenged by this question, “Does similarity mean we come from the same ancestry or does it mean we were created by the same designer?” That designer is the master creator who could produce an ultimate design for every niche in the physical and living universe. That creator is the perfect designer who knows all things and therefore chose the ultimate design, a universal design that can be utilized with the greatest efficiency to maintain all life. The evidence points to one magnificent intelligent Designer.

For example, you may notice that a car dealership has a wide selection of cars. Each car has four wheels, an internal combustion engine, steering wheel, and many other common features. Did you ever wonder if the common design would mean that there would be common descent? In other words, did the cars evolve themselves without any outside help? Of course, this is ridiculous because we know that enormous diligence was needed to design each car model. Although their basic features are the same, they have many other unique qualities that make them attractive to potential buyers. Each car model began with a preplanned design and an outside intelligent designer.

Since there are ultimate designs which function for the exact purpose which they were created, one may expect to witness repetitive patterns in the universe. The more repetitive a design the closer it is to perfection. We observe, in nature, for example, many animals that have appendages such as legs or arms, or digits.

Does similarity mean we come from the same ancestry? Evolution holds that all organisms have descended from one common ancestor. Intelligent Design holds that all living things come from one common source, and are created by one Designer who set out an ultimate design for the universe…and all that is in it.

The ultimate Intelligent Designer cannot be the alleged alien race of the Theory of Directed Panspermia. If aliens from outer space seeded earth with the building blocks of life, then one could ask who created the aliens.

Where did they come from? The answer to this problem is not the never-ending cycle of evolution in the universe, the logical answer to this question is answered in the first book of the Bible, the book of Genesis, in the opening sentence of that book where we read, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
